We Are Family

The Baumgartner family, are owners of Riverside Marine in Essex, MD., a small town in Baltimore County, Maryland, on beautiful Back River.  We were raised on the water in Bauernschmidt Manor, a water-front community on Middle River. We love this community, we grew up swimming in Middle River and fishing on the Chesapeak Bay. We love seeing old boating friends and new boating friends around the showroom and marina, and hanging out on the water with them on Sundays!  Today there are 8 active family members working at Riverside Marine, spanning 3 generations.

Our Heritage

Our parents, Bob and Veenie, purchased the marina in 1976, not really knowing a lot about the recreational business, other than boats are fun and they owned one. They put a lot of hard work and planning, with many late nights, They taught us the value of hard work from the bottom up, and when I say bottom, I mean, like unfer a boat bottom, painting, mowing grass, or whatever was needed. Riverside Marine was, and is today, a family-owned local boat dealership that provides quality products to the boating community, and we always have time to stop and listen to stories from boaters and fisherman that just want to stop by and share, and the stories continue, 41 years into the future!

Inventory and Selection

We offer several quality brands of new boats, Bayline family of boat-- "American's favorite boat", Crownline sport boats, and Sportsman fishing boats. If you are looking for a new or used bowrider, cuddy cabin, cruiser, sport boat, deck boat, fishing boat, center console, walkaround, or skiff, new Mercury outboard, pre-owned outboard, or new or used trailer, we've got it at Riverside.

Demo Dock

One of our dad's business philosphies is, you can't have too much inventory on hand. We believe in having a full display of inventory for you to see, climb in, get a feel for, and to demo test ride. In the spring, as soon as the weather breaks, we start filling up the docks with 10-15 new boats of assorted brands and models. These boats are available for demo test rides all summer and into the fall, Monday through Saturday, because it is important to us that you get the true experience of boating. So, when you are ready to start the adventure of a lifetime, map your course and set your compass to Riverside Marine for your summer fun! We are located on the east side of Baltimore County, Maryland, kust a few minutes from I-95 and 695 on beautiful Back River. Centrally located between Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Washington, D.C., and Havre de Grace, MD.

Marina

We are a full service marina offering both wet slips and lift slipes, wet slips can accomodate boats up to 35', and lift slips up to 28', with electric and water hookups. Security gate entrance for your vessel's protection with electronic access 24/7, outside bathrooms with AC/Heat, and can haul up to 45' boats. A well-stocked parts amd accessory ship's store complete with everything you will need for the boat, with everyday low prices. From cleaner, waxes, wakeboards to hard-core parts, you can find them here. If you prefer to shop online, we have an Amazon store and an eBay Boaters' Discount store. Our CSI award winning service department is open six days a week with Five Star Trained and Certified techs alway availlable to answer your questions, we have a fun, dedicated team of employees who work very hard every day to keep our boating community on the water!
